Villebois Lavalette: The local market town with English speaking doctor, dentist, banks, cash points, supermarket, estate agents, tourist information office and shops is only 10 minutes away. A covered market is held every Saturday where you can enjoy a dish of fresh oysters with a bottle of Muscadet.

Riberac: Is one of the prettiest towns in the Dordogne with a market every Friday and lots of shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc. Definitely worth a visit. There is also a small Internet Cafe located in the town square.
Aubeterre: One of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. Aubeterre has a sand covered river beach with open-air restaurant and canoe hire. The village has several restaurants and a monolithic (subterranean) church carved out of the cliff.
Angouleme: An ancient fortified city with a magnificent 12th century cathedral. The largely pedestrianised city centre has many shops (general High Street shops and large Department Store etc) and restaurants. Angouleme has a TGV station and indoor (all year)/ outdoor (summer) swimming and ice-skating complex (winter)
Bordeaux: Wine, shopping, sightseeing, culture and an international airport. A great place for a day out. Upcoming City of Culture.
Cognac: Located approximately 45 minutes away, Cognac is famous for its Cognac houses – Remy Martin, Martell, Courvoisier and Henessey but also worth a visit for its shops and restaurants. Tours of the Cognac houses are possible to see how the famous drinks are made.
St. Emilion: Famous wine growing district with guided tours available around the many wine producing chateaux. This medieval city with its narrow winding streets and cellars carved from the rock is well worth a visit in its own right.
Bergerac: One of the largest towns in the Perigord Poupre departement with a beautiful old harbour and historic buildings.
Brantome: A charming medieval town between the arms of the river Dronne with an ancient Benedictine monastery.
Poitiers: Futuroscope the cinematographic theme park is a must, with a variety of experiences to suit all ages.
Royan: Coastal town with miles of sandy beaches and many seafood restaurants. Royan also has the largest and reputedly best zoo in France.
