Getting to the house by Car is very straightforward. The
French Autoroute runs down to Angouleme (Toll Charges are
approx £30) with D-roads making up the remainder of the
journey. The AA has a very good Route Planner covering the
whole of Europe.
Alternatively click on the links below for general directions
to Salles Lavalette (we have found the smaller French roads are often quieter, more direct and quicker than the main roads):

Driving tips

Driving in France is a little different than the UK, for additional information please click here. Generally we suggest taking the following:

- First Aid Kit & Warning Triangle
- Hi-Vis Jackets for all occupants
- Headlamp converters
- GB Sticker (unless you have a new style number plate)
- Replacement bulbs
- money for the tolls (although most of them do take credit cards)
- Green card from your Car Insurers
